The Detroit Lions have rewarded quarterback Jared Goff with a four-year, $212 million contract extension, according to multiple reports.

Jared Goff's contract details

Goff agreed to terms on a four-year, $212 million contract extension with the Lions, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The deal includes a $25 million signing bonus and $110.042.682 in guaranteed money.

Goff's new contract makes him the second highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, behind only Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.

The Lions are hoping that Goff can help lead them to their first playoff berth since 2016.

He threw for 3,245 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 16 starts for the Lions in 2021.

The Lions went 3-13-1 in 2021, but they are hoping to improve in 2022 with Goff under center.
